Paul Nicholls the trainer of the Gold Cup hero ‘Denman’ has entered the horse for the 2009 Grand National.

But Nicholls has moved to ensure punters don’t get carried away with the prospect of backing him ahead of his Cheltenham run on March 13.

“We’ve entered Denman for the Grand National but that is as far as it has got at this stage,” said Nicholls.

“If he has a hard race in the Gold Cup like last year that would make it improbable but if something went wrong or he fell at the first, we’d kick ourselves if he wasn’t entered.

“It will be some time before a final decision is made so any speculation otherwise before then is exactly that.”

So it seems unlikely that Denman will run (shame), but I think you may see this talented jumper in the 2010 Grand National race.
